Here are some preservation tricks. Drying on a board for sure is easy, but also in a jar (either bleached or natural, even alive) works well. For later processing.
The circular dried sheet of PAPUR under the jar, was harvested from my mother culture at home (my kombucha drink jar).
It has a subtle range and changes of greys and browns, especially when held against light.
I think, I'll make it the PAPUR logo.
