UITNODIGING (NL - PDF) | INVITATION (FR - PDF)
From 5 to 20 October 2024, Armando, Stef & I celebrate our friendship & collaborations with an exhibition in Mol focusing on Armando's oeuvre. Summarising Armando in a single word? COLOUR! Stef is IMAGE. Captivating photographic work, interwoven with symbolism and references to the origins and evolution of humanity and its universal values. Creating PAPUR, a ‘living’ biobased alternative for paper, leather, plastic is what I add to this artistic conversation. Our friendship goes back over a decade. Countless conversations in Lalandusse, Mol & Retie, Le Fleix & Montauriol. Often on balmy summer evenings, at & after a good dinner, a glass of wine or kombucha. That one word that describes me? I leave that to your imagination....
ARMANDO BERGALLO | Frescos & Paintings
Friendship often blooms like a beautiful, rare flower. On our 'camino de la vida' (path of life), Stef, Johan & I discovered that we share the same values. Our meetings brought moments of reflection & artistic creation. We discovered new sources of creativity, positive energy. In our collective exhibition 'Friendship', we display our rare flower. Be most welcome."

JOHAN GEYSEN | Can Fine Art Be More Sustainable?
Working towards a more sustainable humanity, will have to be done collectively and with impact. This can be done in very different and personal ways. For me, it became a quest around visual art. Using the iPad as the digital core for my creativity, I suddenly realised 99% savings in materials. That was the eye-opener.
The few materials I still needed for tangible creations out of digital worx I could include in my creative process. Initially, these were transfer techniques to recycled textiles. Later also the cultivation of microbial cellulose 'PAPUR': a 'bio-based' carrier halfway between leather, plastic and paper. Grown locally in Lalandusse, near Armando.
In our exhibition 'Friendship', I show the story of PAPUR, the experiments & observations, the successes & setbacks. Along with the PAPUR paintings by Armando, of course.
